Bibilov admits his defeat at presidential election in South Ossetia

The incumbent president of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, has congratulated Alan Gagloev on his victory in the second round of the presidential election after the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the preliminary results of the vote.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 8, voting in the second round of the presidential election took place in South Ossetia. The voter turnout was 68.2%. According to preliminary results of counting 18% of the protocols, Alan Gagloev is winning, Emilia Gagieva the head of the CEC, said at the press centre.

Anatoly Bibilov has announced that he admits his defeat in the election. "I believe that the election has taken place. I congratulate Alan Gagloev and wish him good luck," the TASS quotes him as addressing reporters.
