In Brussels, Aliev and Pashinyan agree to start work of delimitation commission

At a meeting with Charles Michel, the President of the Council of Europe, in Brussels, the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliev, and the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, have agreed to start the work of the commission on border delimitation. They also agreed start unlocking the countries' transport communications.

On May 23, the meeting of Ilham Aliev, Nikol Pashinyan and Charles Michel took place in Brussels. As a result, a statement for media was posted on the website of the Council of the European Union (EU).

"We've focused on the situation in Southern Caucasus and the development of EU's relations with both countries, as well as with the region as a whole," Mr Michel has stated.

According to his story, several results were achieved during the meeting. "Border issues: in the coming days, the first joint meeting of border commissions will be held at the mutual border. It will consider all the issues related to the border delimitation and how best to ensure a stable situation," the statement reads, in particular.

Charles Michel has also notes that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on the need to start unblocking transport links and continue discussing a future peace treaty regulating the Armenian-Azeri relations.
