In Ingushetia, bride’s brother suspected of murdering groom-kidnapper

A resident of Ingushetia shot dead a man after the latter kidnapped his sister to marry her. The suspect has been taken into custody, investigators report.

According to the investigators’ version, at around midnight on May 19, the corpse of a 29-year-old resident of the republic was delivered to the Ingush Republican Clinical Hospital with gunshot wounds to the head and the body.

A local resident has been detained on suspicion of the murder, the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports on its website today.

“It has been found that the crime was committed because of hostile relations that arose in connection with the kidnapping by the victim of the suspect’s sister for the purpose of marrying her,” the ICRF’s Investigating Department for Ingushetia reports.

According to the investigators’ report, the detainee has been placed under arrest.
