Magamadov and Isaev convoyed to Krasnodar and Vladimir

On June 7, Salekh Magamadov was convoyed from Grozny to the city of Vladimir, where he will serve his sentence; and Ismail Isaev was sent to the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Krasnodar, the "SK SOS" Crisis Group has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 11 the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya refused to commute the verdicts to Salekh Magamadov and his brother Ismail Isaev, who were convicted for helping a militant. Their defence intends to challenge the verdicts at the cassation instance.

On December 21, 2021, it was reported that Salekh Magamadov and Ismail Isaev went on a hunger strike due to a court’s refusal to transfer their case to another region. On December 24, the “SK SOS” Crisis Group reported that the health state of Salekh Magamadov and Ismail Isaev had worsened. On January 8, it became known that the brothers had stopped their hunger strike.

Salekh Magamadov and Ismail Isaev were taken out of SIZO-1 in Grozny. It was possible to find this out after the advocate, Alexander Nemov, arrived there and submitted an advocate's request. Then, the SIZO staff told him that Isaev and Magamadov had been convoyed to other Russian regions, the "SK SOS" Crisis Group has informed.

In an official response, the SIZO staff reported that Salekh Magamadov was transferred to a high security Prison-2 in Vladimir; and Ismail Isaev was transferred to SIZO-1 in Krasnodar, which is an intermediate transfer point; it is still unknown where Isaev will serve his sentence, says the message of the "SK SOS" Crisis Group received by the "Caucasian Knot".
