A resident of Kabardino-Balkaria fined for discrediting Russian Armed Forces

Pyotr Toderishka, a resident of the Prokhladnensky District, was found guilty of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces and fined.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 10, it became known that the police suspected Pyotr Toderishka of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

On March 4, the administrative liability was introduced for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, and activists, including those in Southern Russia, began to be prosecuted under this article. Posts and comments on social media also become a reason for suspicion of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The court came to the conclusion that by making a defamatory inscription on the gate of his house, 61-year-old Pyotr Toderishka committed an offense.

“Moreover, during the monitoring of the ‘Odnoklassniki’ social media outlet, it was found that the citizen used a pseudonym and posted on his page a post ... aimed at discrediting the use of the Russian army,” the court’s ruling noted.

Pyotr Toderishka pleaded guilty, repented of his deed, and asked to impose a minimum sentence on him, the court’s ruling reports.
