Recruitment to Chechen battalions goes amid Kadyrov's threats of hell for those who refuse to go to Ukraine
In Chechnya, recruitment is underway into battalions of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD); future fighters are promised salaries of 50,000 roubles or more, the republic's military commissariat (registration and enlistment office) has reported. The recruitment of contractors was announced amid Ramzan Kadyrov's threats with hell to those who would only admit the idea of refusing to go to Ukraine.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 26, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that four MoD battalions would be formed in Chechnya – the "North-Akhmat", "South-Akhmat", "West-Akhmat" and "East-Akhmat", which will be composed "exclusively of Chechen guys."
A source from the military commissariat has noted that "all the necessary conditions for military service" have already been created for the battalion fighters, and their salaries will be from 50,000 roubles, the "Grozny-Inform" reported on July 17 in his Instagram* page.
In his turn, Kadyrov threatened with posthumous punishment to those who would admit the idea of refusing to go to Ukraine. "Whoever just gets the idea that he could not go there and [take part in the military operation] will get into the hell," Kadyrov stated on air of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) on July 14, whose words were translated by the "Caucasian Knot".
