Ten families of forced migrants return from Azerbaijan to Karabakh

Today, 48 forced migrants have settled in new houses in the village of Agaly in the Zangilan District. The authorities first of all allocated housing to those who lived in the most difficult conditions in temporary accommodation centres, the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons explained.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that 1357 out of 1457 forced migrants expressed their desire to return to the village of Agaly in the Zangilan District, which came under the control of Azerbaijan after the autumn war in 2020. At the first stage, it is planned to accommodate 41 families, and ten of them have already moved to new houses.

Today, other 10 families (48 people) have moved to new houses in the village of Agaly in the Zangilan District the “Report” agency reports.

Earlier, the migrants lived in the settlement of Zangilan, located in the village of Masazir in the Apsheron District. Families for resettlement were selected mainly from among those who lived in the most difficult conditions in temporary accommodation centres (TACs), the “Trend” agency reported with reference to the spokesperson of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.

According to the current legislation, after returning to their places of permanent residence, former forced migrants can benefit within three years of the social protection measures established for them by the state.
