Authorities report about at least 200 residents of Dagestan perished in Ukraine
Officials reported about 200 natives of Dagestan perished in Ukraine, and the same death toll is recorded among natives of the Southern Federal District, follows from the statistics run by the “Caucasian Knot” on the basis of the information officially announced by the authorities of regions and municipalities.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 26, Sergey Melikov, the leader of Dagestan, was the first to report about the death of a military officer in Ukraine – officer Nurmagomed Gadjimagomedov. On March 25, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) reported about 1351 perished militaries. Since then, no data about the death toll has been reported.
The authorities of the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and the Southern Federal District (SFD) reported about 609 compatriots perished in Ukraine, including 409 residents of the North-Caucasian Federal District, of which 200 were natives of Dagestan.
The authorities also reported about the deaths of 85 natives of North Ossetia, 53 fighters from the Stavropol Territory, 31 natives of Kabardino-Balkaria, 22 residents of Chechnya, 13 natives of Ingushetia, and five residents of Karachay-Cherkessia.
Since the beginning of the Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, the authorities of the regions of the Southern Federal District have reported about at least 200 perished compatriots. So, in the Volgograd Region, the authorities reported about 76 perished natives of the region, in the Krasnodar Territory – 41, in the Astrakhan region – 36, and in the Rostov Region – 34. It was also reported about seven perished natives of Kalmykia and six perished fighters from Adygea.
