Kadyrov's words about retirement continue trend of his possible resignation
Ramzan Kadyrov has stated that he had overstayed in his post of the head of the region, and is ready to step down. Kadyrov has no intent to leave; and with such statements he is trying to put pressure on the federal authorities, the author of the blog on the "Caucasian Knot" has suggested.
On September 3, Ramzan Kadyrov posted a video message on his Telegram channel in which he stated that he was ready to step down as the head of the republic. "For 15 years now I have been leading the republic. We Caucasians and Chechens have a proverb: no matter how respected, long-awaited the guest is, if he leaves on time, then it is even more pleasant. Therefore, I think that my time has also come – for now I wasn't kicked out," he has stated.
He accompanied this post with a caption reading that "he himself has noticed that he had sat too long." "I think that I've fully deserved an indefinite and long vacation," he has concluded.
A possible Ramzan Kadyrov's transfer to some leading post in the "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) is being considered, the "Meduza"* has reported, citing a source close to the Russian presidential administration.
Kadyrov wants to be asked not to leave, the author of the "Chechnya Inside" blog that he runs on the "Caucasian Knot" has suggested.
"If Kadyrov is speaking about his desire to resign, then, perhaps, there are some kinds of negotiations with Putin's administration on certain issues in which the parties disagree," the blogger has suggested.
