Kadyrov’s words about his indefinite leave cause scepticism of political analysts and protests in social media

Ramzan Kadyrov’s words about going on indefinite leave will be followed by his appointment to a federal post, analysts suggest. In their comments on Instagram*, social media users urged Ramzan Kadyrov to remain the leader of Chechnya.

On September 3, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that he had “stayed too long” as the leader of Chechnya and was ready to leave. Ramzan Kadyrov is being considered as a candidate for a leading post in the National Guard of Russia, a source says. The Kremlin saw Ramzan Kadyrov’s message about his possible resignation, but it “hasn’t materialized yet,” notes Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Ramzan Kadyrov may soon take a new position, suggests Ilya Graschenkov, the director of the Centre for Regional Policy Development. “He is actively involved in political events ... He is one of the main speakers on the topic of the special military operation, and he criticized political parties or expressed the position of Muslims in Russia,” Ilya Graschenkov said.

Ramzan Kadyrov may be appointed the president’s special envoy for cooperation with Islamic countries, political analyst Yevgeny Minchenko suggests as the portal “Msk1.ru” reports.

The involvement of Ramzan Kadyrov in support of the special military operation in Ukraine and his personal loyalty to Vladimir Putin could prove useful to the Kremlin, emphasizes Dmitry Zhuravlev, the director of the Institute for Regional Problems.

A possible leave of Ramzan Kadyrov will affect the entire country, political analyst Andrei Gusiy believes. “It turns out that now personnel decisions will begin at the level not only of Chechnya, but also of Russia,” said the political analyst as quoted by the “Bloknot-Krasnodar”.
