Kadyrov refuses to go to termless vacation
In his video message, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that he had no right to leave his post without asking the people and the Russian president. According to his story, the talk about the termless vacation will have to be left for the future.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 3, Kadyrov announced that he "had stayed too long" as the head of Chechnya. The Kremlin saw his message about possible resignation, but this "has not yet materialized," as Dmitry Peskov, the presidential press secretary, has noted.
On September 6, Kadyrov explained that he decided to record the previous statement after he came across some publication that he had been in office for 15 years and had become a "long-liver" among the heads of Russian regions.
According to his version, he learned later that 15 years as the regional head is not a record. "The record, as it turned out, is 27 years. Therefore, I will say more: now I have decided to break this record," the head of the republic has stated, adding that he would not take "even the due annual vacation."
"In fact, I, of course, have no right to leave just like that. The people entrusted me with the leadership of the region; and it's my sacred duty to justify this trust," Kadyrov has concluded, noting that "several thousand other committed volunteers and elite fighters" are being prepared for sending to Donbass.
