Anatoly Popov was appointed Acting President of Chechen Republic yesterday
The Chairman of the Chechen Government Anatoly Popov was appointed Acting President of the Chechen Republic yesterday.
The Head of the Chechen Administration Akhmad Kadirov, who signed an edict on Popov?s appointment, announced he went on leave till October 5, in other words, till the day of the republican presidential election.
The day before yesterday Kadirov became the tenth candidate for the post of the Chechen president.

Alexander Gongadze Volny Ross, a Ukrainian citizen, who has served his sentence for organizing a wheelchair run in the town of Kamyshin, will be deported from Russia. He and his wife were fined for violating migration laws; and their deportation is expected next week despite the possibility of persecution in their homeland due to their pro-Russian position.
