Krasnodar activists treat gathering against mobilization as spontaneous

In Krasnodar, a protest action against partial mobilization was not announced and was spontaneous, local activists reported. One ofthe detained female activists was threatened by a law enforcers with criminal prosecution, although officially the police did not find any corpus delicti in her actions.

The Caucasian Knot has reported that on September 21, protest actions against the mobilization took place in Krasnodar and Volgograd. According to human rights defenders, 14 people were detained in Krasnodar.

In his Telegram channel, Krasnodar activist Vitaly Votanovsky reported about the detention of activist Galina Shubina, who participated in the protest action in front of the Kuban administration. The young woman was placed in a paddy wagon which was densely packed with detained persons, including minors. One of the detained young women felt ill because of stuffiness, but a policeman refused to take her out into the air.

At a police station, the activist exercised her right not to testify against herself, citing the appropriate article of the Russian Constitution.

Lawyer Aleksei Todorenko emphasizes that none of the detainees in Krasnodar reported about the use of force by the police. According to the lawyer, the police are interested in identifying opinion leaders among the protesters, and therefore law enforcers conduct conversations with the detainees.
