Court upholds request of mobilized Volgograd resident to wait for medical examination in military unit

In Volgograd, a court granted a motion filed by mobilized Vitaly Kandalov, who asked to postpone the consideration of his claim to the military registration and enlistment office for lessening of the category in his military ID. According to Vitaly Kandalov, the administration of the military unit promised to organize a medical examination for a group called up as part of the partial mobilization.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on October 3, Vitaly Kandalov stated that the military registration and enlistment office did not pay attention to his state of health, but immediately sent him to the military unit.

The mobilized man requested the court to oblige the military unit, in which he stays, to conduct a medical examination and put him in the category of “able-bodied for military service with limitations” before sending him to Ukraine.

Vitaly Kandalov said that he and his wife are raising two children. The resident of Volgograd explained that he served in the army as a driver, but the military unit wants to assign him to the motorized infantry.

According to Vitaly Kandalov, there is no big workload in the military unit where he is being trained before being sent to Ukraine, so he does not need medicines yet.

“I am ready to serve, but given my illness. I can’t go further than 100 metres with a bulletproof vest,” said the resident of Volgograd.

The absence of medical commissions in the Volgograd military registration and enlistment offices is “a violation of the law,” lawyer  Anton Getmanenko emphasizes.

Earlier, residents of Volgograd, who received the draft notices, complained that they could not find out for how long they were called up and whether it was possible for them to go abroad during the mobilization. The residents of Volgograd also admitted that they were never explained what measures would be taken to support their families, the terms of payment, and the time for which they were going to Ukraine.
