At least 800 law enforcers from Southern Russia perish in Ukraine
Since the beginning of the special military operation, the authorities have confirmed the information about at least 800 residents of Southern Russia perished in Ukraine, including 512 residents of the North-Caucasian Federal District and 288 residents of the South Federal District. Dagestan became the leader among the regions of Southern Russia in terms of the number of republic’s residents perished in Ukraine.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 21, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu made public the information that 5937 fighters had perished since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, the authorities of the regions and municipalities of the North-Caucasian Federal District and the South Federal District have reported about at least 800 compatriots perished in Ukraine.
The above data includes the officially confirmed information about at least 512 perished residents of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), including 230 natives of Dagestan, whose deaths were reported by the local authorities. Officials of various levels also reported about the deaths of 99 natives of North Ossetia, 79 fighters from the Stavropol Territory, 44 natives of Kabardino-Balkaria, 29 residents of Chechnya, and 26 natives of Ingushetia, as well as five residents of Karachay-Cherkessia.
The authorities of the regions and municipalities of the South Federal District (SFD) have reported about at least 266 compatriots perished since the beginning of the special military operation. So, in the Volgograd Region, representatives of the authorities confirmed the information about 128 perished natives of the region, in the Rostov Region – about 49, in the Krasnodar Territory – about 46, and in the Astrakhan Region – 45 perished compatriots. Besides, the information about ten natives of Adygea and ten fighters from Kalmykia perished in the special military operation was officially confirmed.
Already on May 20, the number of law enforcers from Northern Caucasus who perished in Ukraine exceeded the number of deaths in the past eight years of the armed conflict.
Earlier, analysts have pointed to the lack of information on the death toll in Ukraine.
