Chechen commander calls on unemployed to go to the frontline
Bislan Chabaev, a deputy commander of the "Akhmat-1" OMON (riot police) battalion, has called on the unemployed residents of Chechnya to go to Ukraine to defend their republic.
Residents of Chechnya should sign up en masse as volunteers to participate in the special operation in Ukraine, the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, stated on October 25.
"This is an appeal to our youth at home, men and guys; to those who are roaming around jobless and idling. There are as many workplaces as you like," the "Grozny-Inform" outlet quotes Bislan Chabaev in its Instagram. He has noted that in Ukraine employees are provided with uniforms, foodstuffs and salaries.
Chabaev has invited young people to go to Ukraine to defend Chechnya, emphasizing that one should not be afraid of death. "I've been there twice. There's nothing to worry about. A person who ends up in Ukraine doesn't have to die," he has stated.
Since the start of this week, 23 Chechen fighters have perished "overnight" in the Kherson Region; and 58 others were wounded, Kadyrov informed on October 27. During the previous eight months, Chechen authorities officially confirmed the deaths in Ukraine of only 29 natives of Chechnya.
Chabaev's appeal was posted in his Telegram channel by Akhmed Dudaev, the Chechen Press Minister. "Our brothers are addressing residents of the republic, in particular, the young people, who don't work anywhere and waste their lives in vain, doing nothing useful for the good of the society," the minister has stated.
