Ramzan Kadyrov angered by sanctions imposed on his daughter

Leader of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov responded with insults to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the imposition of sanctions against his daughter Tabarik Kadyrova.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions on 33 Russian citizens and 225 Russian enterprises. Tabarik Kadyrova, the fourth daughter of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, also fell under the restrictions, the RIA “Novosti” reports.

Leader of Chechnya responded with insults to Zelensky on the imposition of sanctions against his daughter.

“You … are able to only impose sanctions against family members of your enemies, including their children. How insignificant and disgusting it is,” Ramzan Kadyrov stated in his Telegram channel. The leader of Chechnya ironically suggested that the President of Ukraine impose restrictions on other members of his family as well.

The leader of Chechnya has added that the special military operation in Ukraine would continue despite the sanctions.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on December 17, 2022, the European Union (EU) imposed sanctions against 141 Russian citizens and 49 Russian enterprises. Restrictions were also imposed against Aishat and Khadizhat Kadyrova, daughters of the leader of Chechnya, as well as against Turpal-Ali Ibragimov, a cousin of Ramzan Kadyrov.

Ramzan Kadyrov has also been under US sanctions since 2017 and under EU sanctions since 2014. In September, the United States tightened sanctions against Ramzan Kadyrov by extending them to relatives of the leader of Chechnya, including his wife Medni and three daughters, as well as Fatima Khazueva and Aminad Akhmadova, who were named Ramzan Kadyrov’s wives on the sanction list.
