Law enforcers come with searches to journalist Alipat Sultanbegova’s friends

Three residents of Krasnodar, who spoke with journalist Alipat Sultanbegova, were searched, and the police seized their PCs and mobile phones. According to Alipat Sultanbegova, all three of her acquaintances have been involved as witnesses in her criminal case on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Krasnodar journalist Alipat Sultanbegova left Russia in May after she received a notification that a criminal case had been instituted against her for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

In April, the police detained Alipat Sultanbegova twice. The reason for drawing up against her a protocol under the article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was her post on Instagram*, in which the journalist cited photographs of a girl with a pacifist drawing in her hands.

The police seized PCs and mobile phones for a total amount of 350,000 roubles from three acquaintances of Alipat Sultanbegova, who communicated with her at different times, the “Sota.Vision” publication reports.

“I announced a fundraiser on my pages in the social media. And this is the least that I can do, because I don’t even know how to compensate material and moral damage to innocent people,” Alipat Sultanbegova said.

In her page on Twitter, the journalist expressed her regret that the people with whom she kept in touch were in danger.

*On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
