Krasnodar resident arrested for posting Ukrainian symbols in social media

A court in Krasnodar has found the posting of a flag on a social network with a slogan glorifying Ukraine as a demonstration of extremist symbols and arrested Mikhail Lyakh, a local resident, for 15 days.

According to the human rights project "OVD-Info"*, the reason for the arrest was the publication on the social network "VKontakte" of the flag of Ukraine with a slogan in support of this country. According to the court, the flag and slogan are "used by 'prohibited organizations.'" Mikhail Lyakh pleaded guilty and repented, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.
