Nalchik: contract soldier convicted for service evasion

The Military Court in Nalchik, the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), has sentenced a military serviceman under contract to five years in jail after finding him guilty of leaving his military unit without permission.

According to investigators, Renat Pirov was absent from his military unit from June 6 to September 21, 2022, and from September 21 to December 14, 2022 before being sent to Ukraine, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on July 3, the Vladikavkaz Military Court sentenced Muayed Kochesokov, another KBR resident, to six years in colony after finding him guilty of leaving his military unit without permission.
