Case of Adyg activist Kase Kik repeatedly sent to court

The Cherkessk City Court has again received the case opened against Kase Kik, an activist, on discrediting Russian militaries.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June 2022, in Cherkessk, law enforcers detained Kase Kik, an Adyg activist. He claimed that he had been tortured, and a protocol on petty hooliganism was drawn up against him. The court arrested him for seven days, after which he left Russia.

The police had drawn up a protocol against Kase Kik for discrediting Russian militaries, but on June 9, the court returned it back to the police due to procedural violations, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports. The case was resent to court on July 7.

According to Kase Kik, from his student days, he has been taking part in the public Circassian youth movement "Adyge-Khase KChR"; in 2008-2012 he headed the "Circassian Congress of the KChR". He was engaged in organizing cultural events aimed at the revival of Circassian customs, including mourning marches held on May 21 in Cherkessk.
