Sources report sending Imam Valid Kuruev, missing in Chechnya, to Ukraine

Imam Valid Kuruev, who disappeared in Chechnya in May this year, has been sent as part of a law enforcers' detachment for taking part in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, sources have informed.

On July 25, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, reported that another plane with fighters had flown from Grozny to the SMO zone. The group included Mullah Valid Kuruev, a former Deputy Mufti of Chechnya, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has reported.

Let us remind you that Valid Kuruev had served as Deputy Mufti of Chechnya. He disappeared after Khusein Djambetov returned to Chechnya.

Djambetov's defection to Kadyrov's side caused a widespread discussion, but this did not affect the Ichkerians' activities, supporters of the self-proclaimed Ichkeria have stated. Khusein Djambetov, having arrived in Chechnya, began handing over to Chechen authorities those Chechens who had visited his home and expressed disagreement with authorities' actions, including Imam Valid Kuruev, a clergyman has informed.

Let us add here that on July 25, it became known that Khusein Zakaev, a nephew of Akhmed Zakaev, was sent to Ukraine. Earlier, in May, he was detained by Chechen law enforcers. He was sent as part of a group of 200 people to the SMO zone, his relative, Shamil Zakaev, has stated.
