Krasnodar resident fined after criticizing Putin

A court in Krasnodar has fined Pavel Karpenko by 10,000 roubles for a picket held near the administration building, during which he held a poster criticizing Putin.

Law enforcers have drawn up two protocols on Karpenko for discrediting the Russian Army because of his picket and pacifist status in the "VKontakte" social network, as well as for organizing an unsanctioned public action because of the announcement of his picket in the social network. The picketer was left at the police station for the night, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported.

On August 15, it became known that the Sovietsky District Court of Krasnodar fined Victor Torba by 40,000 roubles, claiming that the messages he had posted in the messenger discredited Russian militaries.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer. The amount is ridiculous and should be appealed against, lawyers and human rights defenders have stated.
