Residents of the village of Umashaul in the Khasavyurt District have recorded a video appeal to the head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, in which they asked him to help in repairing the road to the village and complained about the problems with water supply.

In Dagestan, there is an acute problem with roads to highland villages. On April 1, 2023, residents of the village of Kakamakhi, Karabudakhkent District, stated, in their video appeal to Sergey Melikov, that officials would not react to their requests to pave the road.

The appeal of Umashaul villagers was posted in the Telegram channel "Only Facts".

Local authorities had promised to provide the village with water supply, but failed with their promise.

“There is only one water tower for the whole village … and even this water is not suitable for drinking,” a villager has stated.

There is an acute shortage of water in the village. "Roads are in a deplorable state, and children cannot go to school," he has added.

Half of the villagers live off livestock, but all the pasture fields they had used have been sold out, another villager has complained.

Djamilya, another villager, has stated that several years ago she complained to the head of Dagestan about the problems of the village on the air, and after that she was fired from her job.
