North-Caucasian Muftis demand from UN to protect Palestine residents

The Muslims' Coordination Centre of Northern Caucasus has accused Israel of "state terrorism and genocide" with the complicity of the United States and Western countries, demanding that the United Nations (UN) intervene in the situation to protect the people of Palestine.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the aggravation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict sparked a response among North-Caucasian Muslims. Thus, in Chechnya, the official clergy are holding daily mass prayers in support of Palestine; and on October 17, residents of Dagestan tried to hold a rally in Makhachkala which was dispersed by law enforcers.

The above Muslims' Coordination Centre has treated Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip as "genocide". It claims that amid outages of electricity and drinking water supplies, hospitals and schools are being bombed.

"Children, women and elderly people continue perishing every minute. All these Israel's actions constitute state terrorism and genocide. We, Muftis of Northern Caucasus, call on the UN to stop the genocide of the people of Palestine," the statement says.

The Centre further notes that it expects a "proper reaction" from the UN; and should it fail to follow, "Muslims around the world will be forced to intervene in this process." Such interference will be of a "harsh nature."
