Damage to Makhachkala airport caused by rioters estimated at 285 million rubles

The preliminary amount of damage to the Makhachkala airport amounted to 285 million rubles, said State Duma deputy Khizri Abakarov, proposing to recover the costs from the riot participants themselves, as well as to add them to the airport’s blacklist.

The deputy said that the rioters must compensate for the damage and also promised to put them on the airport’s “blacklist.”

“Absolutely everyone who destroyed the airport was caught on surveillance cameras, their faces are clearly visible and their identities are easily established. In addition to criminal liability for the seizure of a strategic object, we will demand that they compensate for the damage caused to the airport! We are also blacklisting them from airport, they will not be serviced at Makhachkala airport until all damage is compensated! No one is allowed to destroy or break other people's property with impunity!" Khizri Abakarov noted.

According to him, “provocateurs who work in Derbent, with calls to destroy some objects, as well as carry out illegal actions,” are also included in the airport’s blacklist.

"We will not allow the airport riots scenario in Derbent to be repeated! We know everyone who is now engaged in this propaganda! We know who creates groups in messengers, calling for rallies! We know who writes anti-Semitic speeches on social networks and calls for reprisals against people," the deputy emphasized.
