Mobilized resident of Kuban sentenced to imprisonment for desertion
In Sochi, a court sentenced mobilized Maxim Sukhobrus to seven years of imprisonment, finding him guilty of leaving without permission a military unit in the special military operation zone and desertion.
The “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports that in October 2022, Maxim Sukhobrus was called up for military service, and then he was sent to the special military operation (SMO) zone in Ukraine. In January, the man left the combat zone and came to Tuapse, where his family lived. Maxim Sukhobrus lived in rented apartments, and in June, he was detained by the police. During the investigation of his criminal case, Maxim Sukhobrus was assigned to a military unit, but in August, he escaped from there and was detained again in Tuapse on September 23.
Maxim Sukhobrus explained that he left the special military operation zone, as he “wanted to take a break from the military service” and he was also “burdened by the responsibilities of the military service, since he did not want to go through it and also did not want to return to the territory of the special military operation.”
