Mullah killed in Chechnya in front of his own child

In the village of Voskresenovskoye, Shelkovskoi District of Chechnya, a mullah was stabbed to death in front of his child. According to sources, blood feud could be the motive. An oppositional channel has refuted this version.

According to Telegram channels, the casualty is the 54-year-old Abdurakhim Gakaev; he received more than ten stab wounds, the "Mash Gor" outlet writes. The motive could have been in blood feud.

The investigating department for Chechnya has reported that the murder took place in the yard of a private house. The attacker stabbed the man several times; and he died on the spot.

The "ChP-Kavkaz" Telegram channel has reported Turpal-Ali Sh., born in 1993, a resident of Gudremes, had been put on the wanted list. According to one of the channels, 10 years ago, the suspect turned to a healer (who used alternative medicine methods) in Dagestan. Five years later, he began to seek treatment from witchcraft; therefore, Turpal-Ali became a "patient" of the man whom he killed, deciding that he was also a sorcerer.

Let us remind you that Chechen authorities are regularly reporting on the reconciliation of blood feud families through the reconciliation commission. Reconciliation of feudists often occurs under authorities' pressure, although in such cases hostility may actually continue, Ruslan Kutaev, the President of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, has noted.
