Activist Marina Melikhova complains about custody conditions at SIZO
Marina Melikhova, an activist, convicted of discrediting Russian militaries, has complained about the problems with heating at the SIZO-2 (pre-trial prison) in Armavir.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 15, 2023, it became known that the court in Adler sentenced the above Melikhova to 1.5 years in colony, treating her videos she had posted in social networks as discrediting Russian militaries.
In 2022, Melikhova was fined several times under the administrative article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
According to her story, detainees are freezing in their cells because "radiators are barely warm," the "OVD-Info"* project reports.
Melikhova links her criminal prosecution with the pacifist videos that she had posted in social networks.
Melikhova is a supporter of the "USSR Citizens"** movement. Earlier, she was convicted of public calls for extremist activities and served more than two years in jail. After her release, she complained about violations of her rights in detention places.
*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
**In 2019, the Supreme Court of the Komi Republic recognized the "Union of Rus' Slavic Forces" (one of the group of movements that also includes "USSR Citizens") as an extremist organization.
