Krasnodar activist arrested for banner at picket in memory of Navalny*

A court in Krasnodar has arrested for 14 days Andrei Vyazov, an activist, having treated his use of a banner from Navalny's* presidential campaign during the picket as a demonstration of symbols of a banned organization.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the convict, Alexei Navalny*, died in his penal colony after his health condition had sharply worsened. Some social media users have doubted that his death was natural. In Krasnodar, activists laid flowers in memory of Navalny* at the memorial to fascism victims.

As reported by the human rights project "OVD-Info"**, Vyazov was detained near the Chistyakovskaya Roshcha Park, where people were laying flowers at the monument to fascism victims. He held a solo picket there, holding a banner from Alexei Navalny's* 2018 presidential campaign, the "Mediazona"*** has reported.

*Navalny's offices are recognized as extremist organizations and banned in Russia. Alexei Navalny is a founder of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (known as FBK), an NCO that is included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of NCOs performing functions of a foreign agent. The NCO is also recognized by a court as extremist and banned in the territory of Russia.

**Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.

***On September 29, 2021, the Ministry of Justice of Russia included the LLC "ZP" (the legal entity that had established the "Mediazona") into the list of media outlets-foreign agents.
