Activist Atamanchuk complains about law enforcer's actions in Sochi

Vladimir Atamanchuk, a Sochi activist, has sent an application to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), in which he accused the head of the Lazarevskoye ROVD (District Interior Division), who had ordered to detain him, of exceeding his official duties.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 19, Atamanchuk was detained at the railway station in Sochi. He linked his detention to his application lodged to the election commission about his refusal to participate in the presidential election, which he treated as illegitimate. He was released after a call from his advocate; and law enforcers stated that the detention was a mistake.

"The police informed me that, on the instructions of the head of Lazarevskoye ROVD ... I was put on the wanted list since March 14 ... as a fugitive from the investigation ... I believe that the above head is persecuting me due to political hatred for my refusal to vote at the election," Atamanchuk has stated in his complaint.

He has also reported that in September 2022, five days before the united voting day, he was detained and arrested for five days.

Meanwhile, he has noted that he has no hopes for a fair consideration of the application, but wrote it primarily in order to find out what the ICRF would answer.
