Journalist Zalina Marshenkulova accused of justifying terrorism

Investigators have accused in absentia Zalina Marshenkulova, a journalist from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), for placing posts justifying terrorism in her Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2020, journalist, Zalina Marshenkulova, the author of the Telegram channel "Women's Power" and an activist from the KBR, turned to the police because of threats she had received from the community "For the Good of the Common People." According to her story, she began receiving threats in social networks after she wrote a post in support of the actresses from the video clip of the lead singer of the Rammstein group.

Marshenkulova lives in Germany, the RIA "Novosti" has reported, citing a source from law enforcement bodies.

Zalina herself has stated in her Telegram channel that she worries about her relatives. "I'm only concerned about my mother and grandmother, who stayed there. And that my grandmother won't survive if they come to her home to conduct a search. She's already 90 years old, she's a veteran. And I can't see my son yet, or visit him," she has written.
