Volgograd blogger Prokudin sent to SIZO

In Volgograd, a court arrested trash streamer Pavel Prokudin, accused of insulting Russian militaries. The defence asked the court to place Pavel Prokudin under house arrest.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 19, it became known that blogger Pavel Prokudin, who spoke live about participants of the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, became a suspect in a criminal case on inciting hatred and enmity. On April 22, the blogger was detained, while he asked for forgiveness and claimed that he was in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

The blogger will remain in custody until at least June 18, the joint press service for the courts of the Volgograd Region reports.

“The suspect’s defender requested the court for house arrest,” the official Telegram channel reports.

The defender argued that Pavel Prokudin was not going to hide from the trial. However, an investigator emphasizes that after the broadcast on April 4, during which Pavel Prokudin spoke about the Russian militaries “with the aim of humiliating their dignity,” the blogger left the Volgograd Region, “understanding that the acts he committed were punishable.”

In June 2023, Pavel Prokudin had to apologize for insulting Muslims and residents of the Caucasus in his video stream.
