Resident of Gorodischensky District fined for discrediting Russian Army
A court fined Yevgeny Omelchenko, a resident of the Gorodischensky District, 30,000 roubles, recognizing the man’s pacifist entry posted on a social network as discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
In September 2022, 24-year-old Yevgeny Omelchenko posted on his page on the “VKontakte” social network “the information aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” the joint press service for the courts of the Volgograd Region reports in its Telegram channel.
Yevgeny Omelchenko’s status on the social network contained a statement directed against the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, the “OVD-Info”* human rights project reports on its website.
*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
