ECtHR recognizes violation of Krasnodar Navalny supporter’s rights

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) recognized a 10-day arrest of Anastasia Panchenko, a former coordinator of the Alexei Navalny’s office in Krasnodar, for calling for participation in a rally as a violation of her rights. The ECtHR obliged the authorities of Russia to pay Anastasia Panchenko 5 000 euros.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 8, it became known that the European Court of Human Rights recognized a violation of the rights of Artyom Gavrilov, a resident of the Stavropol Territory, who was fined for supporting Alexei Navalny.

Anastasia Panchenko was arrested for 10 days “for calls to take part in public events – a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23, 2021 in Krasnodar.”

Let us remind you that in March 2012, Anastasia Panchenko was fined 50 000 roubles for promoting non-traditional sexual relationships among teenagers because of her photograph with two girls posted on social networks.

In February, Anastasia Panchenko was accused of disseminating false information by her post on social networks, but the examination did not find any confirmation of the version of extremism in the activist’s post, and the administrative case was closed.
