During the week of June 17-23, 25 people perished during armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from June 17 to June 23, 2024, 15 law enforcers and four civilians perished in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Six suspected militants were killed. Many received various wounds; the Dagestani Muftiate announced 25 victims. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

On June 23, attacks were committed in Derbent and Makhachkala; and six suspected militants were killed as part of the counterterrorist operation (CTO). Dagestani authorities have reported that 15 law enforcers and several civilians perished as a result. On June 24, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) clarified that four civilians had perished. The incidents are being investigated under the articles of terrorism, illegal trafficking in weapons and theft of firearms.

"Law enforces, clergymen and ordinary citizens have fallen victim to these monstrous terror acts. The death toll reached nine people; seven of them were law enforcers. Other 25 people were wounded," the Dagestani Muftiate wrote in its Telegram channel on June 23.
