KBR resident fined twice for discrediting militaries

A court in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has fined Vladimir Kryachko, a 61-year-old local resident, twice in the amount of 15,000 roubles, finding him guilty of speaking negatively about Russian militaries.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 2, it became known that two administrative protocols had been drawn up against Vladimir Kryachko for discrediting the Russian Army.

The Elbrus District Court has found Kryachko guilty in two cases of discrediting the Russian Army and imposed two fines on him, the "Memorial" Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD)* has informed in its Telegram channel.

Vladimir is a taxi driver. According to investigators, while driving passengers, he "called for hampering the use" of the Russian Armed Forces.

*As reported on the website of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the reason for including on March 1, 2024, the unregistered "Memorial" Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD) into the roster of foreign agents was the spread of "inaccurate information aimed at creating a negative image of the Russian Federation, as well as the Russian Armed Forces."
