KBR woman fined for disrespecting the anthem

A court in the Chegem District has fined a local woman by 3000 roubles for refusing to stand during the playing of the Russian anthem. This is the ninth fine under this article after the publication of a video from a graduation at a Nalchik school in social networks.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that eight residents of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) were found guilty of violating the procedure for using the Russian national anthem and were fined. In total, the courts received nine administrative protocols against parents of the Nalchik school graduates who did not get up from their chairs during the playing of the Russian anthem.

A refusal to stand during the playing of the Russian anthem falls under administrative liability, but the cases against graduates' parents in Nalchik for disrespect for the anthem are overblown and politicized, lawyers and human rights defenders have pointed out.

It should be noted here that the "RusHydro" Company reported that among the participants in the gala event who showed disrespect for the Russian anthem was an employee of Company's branch in the KBR. The company demanded a public apology from him, saying that his actions had offended the society and his colleagues.
