Prisoner in penal colony in Adygea sentenced to new term under article on aiding and abetting terrorists

The Southern Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Rasul Ibragimov, a prisoner in a penal colony in Adygea, to ten years of imprisonment, finding him guilty of aiding and abetting terrorist activities.

According to the law enforcers’ version, while serving his sentence in the penal colony, 29-year-old Rasul Ibragimov took money from prisoners for the benefit of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia, the “Adygeya Segodnya” (Adygea Today) news agency reports.

The sentence for Rasul Ibragimov was pronounced by the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that several natives of Northern Caucasus are involved in the “prison jamaat” case as defendants, and some of them have already been sentenced to long terms of imprisonment. In July, it became known that relatives of Magomed Khanilaev, a native of Dagestan, who was kept at a SIZO (the pre-trial prison) in Rostov-on-Don, lost contact with him after hostage-taking took place at the penitentiary institution.
