Searches conducted at houses of Jehovah’s Witnesses* in Stavropol and Karachay-Cherkessia

The police conducted searches at the homes of residents of the Kardonikskaya village in Karachay-Cherkessia, including at houses of Tatiana Pasynkova, Maria Ogoreva and her daughter Svetlana Ogoreva, a Jehovah’s Witness*. Searches were also conducted in Stavropol at an apartment of Alexei Pasynkov, a Jehovah’s Witness*.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 15, it became known that in Stavropol, the police searched an apartment of Alexei Pasynkov, a Jehovah’s Witness* from Karachay-Cherkessia.

In the village of Kardonikskaya in Karachay-Cherkessia, law enforcers conducted searches in the houses of 62-year-old Maria Ogoreva and her daughter Svetlana Ogoreva, against whom a criminal case was instituted in December 2023 for participating in the activities of an extremist organization, the “OVD-Info”** reported.

The police also came with searches to 59-year-old Tatiana Pasynkova, a mother of Alexei Pasynkov, against whom a criminal case was instituted in December 2022 for organizing the activities of an extremist organization. Alexei Pasynkov stays under written undertaking not to leave the city, reports a website that contains information on criminal cases against Russian Jehovah’s Witnesses*.

Law enforcers also conducted searches at the apartment of Alexei Pasynkov himself in Stavropol as part of the case against his wife Yulia.

Let us remind you that the Alexei Pasynkov’s apartment in Stavropol was searched in November 2021. Searches were also conducted at his brothers’ houses in the village of Mednogorsky in Karachay-Cherkessia.

*396 Russian organizations of Jehovah's Witnesses are recognized as extremist, and their activities in Russia are banned by court's decision.
