Krasnodar resident fined for discrediting Russian Army and posting prohibited symbols

In Krasnodar, a court fined local resident Ilya Kharchenko 61,000 roubles under two protocols on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces and a protocol on demonstrating prohibited symbols.

The Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar fined Ilya Kharchenko 30,000 roubles under each of two protocols on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. The reason for the fines were two Ilya Kharchenko’s posts on social networks in support of Ukraine, the “OVD-Info”* reports.

Ilya Kharchenko was fined for another amount of 1000 roubles under the article on demonstrating prohibited symbols. The protocol was drawn up because of a video posted on a social network and depicting the coat of arms of Ukraine with a slogan used by extremist organizations banned in Russia.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 25, Krasnodar resident Dmitry Polyakov, who had earlier been fined for a pacifist picket, became involved as a suspect in a criminal case on discrediting Russian Armed Forces.
