Natives of Ingushetia and Chechnya killed in shooting near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

As a result of shooting which took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in Moscow, Islambek Elmurziev, a 28-year-old master of sports in freestyle wrestling from Ingushetia, and Adam Almazov, a 41-year-old deputy commander of the “Akhmat-1” OMON (riot police) battalion from Chechnya, have been killed, sources report.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 18, in Moscow, a group of men smashed the windows at the entrance to the business centre where the office of the “Wildberries” Company is located. In response, shooting was opened, as a result of which two person were killed and at least seven others were wounded.

According to the Forbes’ information, Tatiana Bakalchuk, a founder of the “Wildberries” Company, is the richest woman in Russia. In 2023, the fortune of Tatiana Bakalchuk was estimated at 7 billion US dollars. Her husband Vladislav Bakalchuk owns 1% of the “Wildberries” Company’s shares. On July 23, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced that the Vladislav Bakalchuk’s wife “was deprived by raiders of the chances to meet her husband and their seven children.”

The “Mash” Telegram channel reports with reference to its sources that as a result of the shooting, Umar Chichaev, an MMA fighter from Chechnya, was also wounded. Earlier, Umar Chichaev has posted a photo on social media in which he was standing next to Ramzan Kadyrov and his associates.

According to one of the participants in the conflict, the confrontation began because of a dispute with the Ramzan Kadyrov’s associates. The parties were supposed to peacefully resolve their conflict over business, but the Ramzan Kadyrov’s associates behaved provocatively, a source reported.

Vladislav Bakalchuk states that he fell victim to an assassination attempt. He claims that armed men were waiting for him at the meeting, who were ready to open fire first, the RBC reports.

Earlier, analysts have noted that friendship with Ramzan Kadyrov does not guarantee the preservation of business in the event of serious claims by the law enforcement bodies against entrepreneurs. However, by intervening in the conflict around the “Wildberries” Company, Ramzan Kadyrov positioned himself as a politician of federal scale, the analysts believe.
