Father of athlete missing in Dagestan decides to challenge his dismissal from MIA

Nikolai Tsomartov, a father of a female athlete from North Ossetia, who went missing in Kaspiysk, considered his dismissal after searching for his daughter to be humiliating and unlawful. The man decided to lodge an appeal to court.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Nikolai Tsomartov was dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for violating ethics after he criticized the law enforcement bodies for the ineffective investigation into the disappearance of his daughter Anna Tsomartova. The athlete disappeared in Dagestan after a tournament.

Nikolai Tsomartov explained that after his dismissal, he requested the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) to let him look through the results of the internal investigation, after which he was deprived of his position, and punish those guilty of his unlawful dismissal. The man filed three appeals. The MIA’s Donsky Department responded to Nikolai Tsomartov that no violations during his dismissal were discovered, the “161.RU” portal reports.

Nikolai Tsomartov intends to go to court. “I want to restore my good name, which was tarnished in such way,” the man explained.
