Nikita Zhuravel, who burned Koran, accused of high treason
Nikita Zhuravel, a resident of Volgograd, convicted of burning the Koran, has been charged with high treason.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 27, a court in Grozny sentenced Nikita Zhuravel to 3.5 years of imprisonment, finding him guilty of violating the right to freedom of religion and hooliganism.
The accused young man used a messenger and offered cooperation to an employee of the Ukrainian security service, and in March 2023, the suspect sent him a video of a train carrying military equipment and vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces, military aircrafts, as well as the information about the movement of an official vehicle of a military unit, the General Prosecutor’s Office reports on its official website.
Let us remind you that on May 20, 2023, law enforcers detained Nikita Zhuravel in Volgograd. According to the investigators’ version, Nikita Zhuravel confessed that he recorded a video of the burning of the Koran on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services and received 10,000 roubles for his acts. The suspect handed the recording over to an employee of the Ukrainian special services, for whom he also filmed military facilities, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported.
On September 25, 2023, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov posted on the Internet a video showing his son Adam Kadyrov beating Nikita Zhuravel at the a SIZO (pre-trial prison). The leader of Chechnya praised his son for his act.
