Ingush authorities warn residents against participating in protests amid Kadyrov’s statements

Residents of Ingushetia should not take part in unsanctioned actions of protest in connection with the Ramzan Kadyrov’s statement about blood feud, the republic’s authorities have warned. Officials treat the calls to participate in the protest as a provocation.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that when speaking about the conflict around the “Wildberries” Company, the leader of Chechnya mentioned Senator from Dagestan Suleiman Kerimov and Russian State Duma members Bekkhan Barakhoev and Rizvan Kurbanov. Ramzan Kadyrov called them on to prove their non-involvement in an order to assassinate the leader of Chechnya himself and warned them of his readiness to declare blood feud.

At a meeting of the Ingush and Chechen delegations, Russian State Duma member from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov placed responsibility for the incident near an office of the “Wildberries” Company on Russian State Duma member from Ingushetia Bekkhan Barakhoev. Adam Delimkhanov claimed that the natives of Chechnya had to return fire during the conflict after they themselves came under fire. The Chechen top-ranking official threatened with consequences. Bekkhan Barakhoev stated that the guards the “Wildberries” Company’s office were not armed. The conflict around the “Wildberries” Company is in the sphere of business interests and does not affect relations between the peoples of Chechnya and Ingushetia, analysts believe.

The press service of the leader and government of Ingushetia notes that provocateurs intend to portray the Ingush people as nationalist savages and the authorities of the republic, which is pursuing a restrained information policy, as incapable of pacifying the republic’s population.

The regional authorities requested residents to exercise restraint and indicated that responsibility for participating in unsanctioned protests includes fines and an arrest.

A message calling for people to come out to a protest action was posted by one of the Ingush Telegram channels. Its authors called for “showing Ramzan Kadyrov’s associates” that it is not allowed to insult Ingush people.
