Court extends arrest of singer Sharlot, who apologized to Kadyrov
In Samara, a court has pronounced to keep singer Eduard Sharlot, who apologized to Ramzan Kadyrov in January, in custody until March 25, 2025.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in January, musician Eduard Sharlot, accused of rehabilitating Nazism and insulting the feelings of believers, apologized in court to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov for “casually insulting” him and to Vladimir Putin, whose portrait he tore up. A fifth criminal case has been instituted against Sharlot. The “Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial” project recognized him as a political prisoner.
Singer Sharlot posted provocative videos on social networks. In the summer of 2023, he moved to Armenia and declared his disagreement with the actions of the Russian authorities, but he quickly ran out of money there. In November, the musician decided to return to Russia and was detained at an airport.
