Activist Koshelev transferred from psychiatric hospital to outpatient observation

Activist Vyacheslav Koshelev from the city of Volzhsky, who had earlier been placed to a psychiatric clinic for using violence against a policeman, was transferred home under the supervision of medical officers.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 23, 2022, it became known that the administration of a SIZO (pre-trial prison) agreed to transfer Vyacheslav Koshelev to another cell after he went on a hunger strike, demanding better conditions.

The compulsory inpatient treatment was replaced for Vyacheslav Koshelev with outpatient observation, the “OVD-Info”* human rights project reported.

Let us remind you that Vyacheslav Koshelev was detained on March 26, 2022, while walking around the city in a T-shirt and a cap with Ukrainian symbols. The court fined him for hooliganism. Vyacheslav Koshelev complained that after his detention he was beaten by law enforcers. Later, the man was placed to a psychiatric hospital for forced medical treatment for using violence against a policeman.
