Mother of Chechen teenager Murdiev requests ICRF to conduct unbiased investigation

In her appeal to the head of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), a mother of Chechen teenager Roman Murdiev claimed that she had repeatedly filed complaints, but received refusals.

14-year-old Roman Murdiev has been charged with gross violation of public order and use of violence. The teenager has been under house arrest in Moscow for more than six months. The reason for the institution of the criminal case was a fight in which the teenager, according to his version, stood up for a 12-year-old boy he knew.

The mother of Roman Murdiev has lodged an appeal to Alexander Bastrykin, the chair of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). In her appeal, the woman demanded to conduct an “honest investigation.” “Complaints were filed more than 700 times, and not a single legal decision has been made on a single appeal. Only refusals came,” the RBC quotes the Roman Murdiev’s mother as stating in her appeal.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov claimed Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Alexander Bastrykin, the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), respectively, to be professionally incompetent. “The Murdiev’s case shows that ... the people who are at the top, like Bastrykin and Kolokoltsev, are not in their places,” the “Chechnya Segodnya” (Chechnya Today) news agency quoted Ramzan Kadyrov as saying.
