Relatives of authorities critic detained in Chechnya
In Chechnya, law enforcers have detained two relatives of the activist who has criticized the republic's authorities.
The statistics of kidnapping cases in Chechnya are no longer kept, since relatives of missing persons are afraid to share information about disappearances, human rights defenders have noted.
In Chechnya, law enforcers have detained Abdul-Vakhid Mustafinov, 70, and Mukhammad Mustafinov, his son, who are an uncle and a cousin of the activist who cooperates with the opposition Telegram channel "Niiso" in Chechnya. This was reported by this Telegram channel.
"Both are innocent of anything, except that they are relatives of a person who dared telling the truth about the ruling regime," activists have added.
Let us remind you that in April 2023, the Amnesty International pointed out the deterioration of the situation with human rights violations in Russia. Human rights defenders noted that critics of local authorities in Chechnya are arbitrarily arrested amid the impunity reigning in the region.
