In Tbilisi, protesters set up festive tables in front of parliament building

In Tbilisi, participants of the protest campaign celebrated the New Year holiday at festive tables that they set up in front of the parliament building.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that daily protests in Tbilisi gather up to a thousand people. The Georgian Prime Minister has also noted that the people have the right to self-expression, and there is no point in interfering with their action. On December 29, after the protest action in front of the Georgian parliament building ended, the police detained six persons using force. The detentions began under the pretext that the protesters were interfering with the movement of cars.

The participants of the protest campaign gathered on Rustaveli Avenue, the “Tbilisi Life” Telegram channel reported. The protestors set up a long table on the avenue, which is blocked for traffic, and they are enjoying food brought from home.

The people have brought treats and are voicing best wished to each other on the occasion of the New Year holiday. This is the 34th in a row and the first festive protest action against the suspension of European integration, the “Paper Kartuli” Telegram channel reports.
